Awards Handed Out at Annual Chamber Gala

The Bradley County Chamber of Commerce held their annual Gala Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Immanuel Baptist Church.  The keynote speaker for the event was NFL Referee Walt Coleman.  Mr. Coleman resides in Little Rock and is a sixth generation of the Coleman Dairy family (now Hiland Dairy).  He was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2009 following in the footsteps of his father who was inducted in 1994.  Mr. Coleman spoke to the crowd about positive attitudes and how they make a difference.

Chamber President David King issued the welcome to the crowd and was followed by Rev. Daniel Haigwood, pastor of Hermitage Baptist Church who gave the invocation.

After revealing the People's Choice Awards, President King announced the major awards of the evening.

Warren Jr. Auxiliary was named Civic Club of the Year.



Warren Rotary Club earned the award for Project of the Year with their Dolly Parton's Imagination Library which gives 150 books to children age 5 and under each month in the county.  Erika Spears accepted the award on behalf of the club.


Anthony Boykin was named the Hermitage Educator of the Year.  He is a history instructor.

Judy Shipp was named the Warren Educator of the Year.  Mrs. Shipp is a teacher at SEACBEC.

The Eastlab students, under the facilitation of Mrs. Janet Harton were awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award.  EAST (Environmental and Spatial Technology) is a program at the Southeast Arkansas Community-based Education Center under the leadership of Mrs. Jonalyn Reep.

The employee of the year award was presented to Helen Boswell, secretary to Mayor Bryan Martin.

Regina Scroggins was named boss of the year.  She is the principal at Brunson New Vision Charter School.  She is picture above (left to right) with Keithlyn Herring Teen Miss Pink Tomato and Kelsey Windham Miss Pink Tomato who assisted with the presentations of the awards.

Warren Bank and Trust Company was named Business of the Year.

The Bradley County Young Citizen of the Year award went to Hermitage senior Emily Kidwell.


The Bradley County Citizen of the Year honor was awarded to Reverend Daniel Haigwood, pastor of Hermitage Baptist Church.
Outgoing chairman Gregg Reep.  Mr. Joey Cathey was not able to attend the gala.

Also recognized at the gala were Joey Cathey for his service as the 2014 Tomato Festival Chairman and Gregg Reep the Past Chairman of the 2014 Chamber of Commerce.
