Downtown Network Organization Committee Meets

The Warren Downtown Network Organizational Committee met August 8 at Molly's Diner at noon.  Nine individuals were in attendance including Chamber of Commerce personnel, Chrissie Barnes and Eastlab students from SEACBEC, Mayor Bryan Martin, a representative of Entergy, Gregg Reep, and downtown businessman Mike Nichols.

Discussion centered around communication and public relations to promote downtown, fund raising strategies, and managing and recruiting volunteers.  A need to create a non-profit to help upgrade and utilize vacant buildings was also considered in detail.

Other committees are working on various aspects of improving the downtown business area.  The organizational committee will continue its efforts to promote downtown usage and development.
